Away from Anger God Guides

Psalm 37:8   Enough of anger, leave rage aside, do not worry, nothing but evil can come of it.

Away from Anger

Ecclesiasticus 30:21-27

Do not abandon yourself to sorrow,

Do not torment yourself with brooding.

Gladness of Heart is life to a person,

Joy is what gives them length of days.

Beguile your cares, console your heart,

Chase Sorrow far away;

for sorrow has been the ruin of many,

and is no use to anybody.

Jealousy and anger shorten your days,

and worry brings premature old age.

A genial heart makes a good soldier,

one who benefits from their food.

Ecclesiasticus 28:2-7   Forgive your neighbour the hurt he does you, and when you pray, your sins will be forgiven.  If a man nurses anger against another, can he then demand compassion from the Lord?  Showing no pity for a man like himself, can he then plead for his own sins?  Mere creature of flesh, he cherishes resentment; who will forgive him his sins?  Remember the last things, and stop hating, remember dissolution and death, and live by the commandments.  Remember the commandments, and do not bear your neighbour ill-will; remember the covenant of the Most High, and overlook the offence.

Ecclesiasticus 27:30  Resentment and Anger are foul …

James 1:19-25   Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters;  be quick to listen but slow to speak and slow to rouse your temper:  God’s righteousness is never served by people’s anger;  so do away with all the impurities and bad habits that are still left in you- accept and submit to the Word which has been planted in you and can save your souls.  But you must do what the Word tells you, and not just listen to it and deceive yourselves.  …. … .. the person who looks steadily at the perfect law of freedom and makes this their habit – not listening and then forgetting, but actively putting it into practice- will be happy in all that they do.

Colossians 3:7-11   …. give up anger, temper, lies …

Romans 1:19-25   Be quick to listen & slow to speak & slow to rouse anger …

Job 5:2   Resentment kills the senseless, and anger brings death to the fool.

Proverbs 22:24   Make friends with no person who gives way to anger.
